Audrey was having concerns with the air quality in her home, after her Radon test came back, she knew she needed to significantly reduce the levels. Audrey reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have a Radon Mitigation system installed. Due to her existing sump pump that was already installed in her basement, the foreman, Bill, was able to install the mitigation system using the pit as the main suction channel. A sump lid was placed on the open pit to allow for appropriate Radon pull, to be disbursed back outside the home, leaving safe levels to breathe.

Concrete Lifting and Leveling in Waverly, IA

Homeowner Dean has lived in his home for the last 22 years since the home was first built. Over the last few years, he has slowly started to notice that the slabs of concrete that make up his driveway were starting to sinking in places which lead to cracking. He wanted to have the issue addressed to make sure that it would not lead to a tripping hazard and also he wanted to improve the overall curb appeal to his home. Polyurethane foam is injected under the concrete slabs, the foam expands lifting the slab and then hardens to hold the slab in its place. The polyurethane foam is water resistant and will not wash away like other alternatives such as mudjacking. The foam is also environmentally friendly and is made up of all recycled materials. The foam can be used on driveway, sidewalks, patios and pool decks along with garage floors and other poured concrete surfaces.

Bill and Krista were concerned with the radon levels in their home. When they contacted MidAmerica Basement systems, they were not just looking for someone to install a system for them but also to educate them on why having a radon mitigation system is important.  It is important to have a radon mitigation system in your home because radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Radon Mitigation Systems Provides Cleaner & Safer Air Quality for Home in Waverly, IA

Judy recently purchased a radon test kit to check the levels of radon in her home. When she received her test results, she was shocked. She quickly reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems for help. When design specialist Wes came out to inspect her situation, he offered her a system using her current sump pump. Using the existing pump pit helps withdraw the radon gas out from under the home, leaving healthy, cleaner air inside the home, while the dangerous gases are pulled from the home. Judy can now breathe happy knowing her radon levels are mitigated.

Water Problem Fixed in Waverly, IA

Jo and Ray M. were having water problems along with foundation issues in their basement. They decided to give MidAmerica Basement Systems a call for help because they had used them in the past.

After a quick phone call, an appointment was set up with Mac McDaniel to come evaluate the basement. Mac decided the best solution for their particular problem was to have a partial WaterGuard system installed. The WaterGuard will channel the water towards the pumping system that will take the water up, out, and away from the home.

Jo and Ray M. could not be happier to have a basement that is worry free. With the Wall Anchors from previous work holding pulling the walls back into place and the new WaterGuard getting rid of the water, their home should be worry free for many years to come.

The house was moved to the new, poured foundation in 1993. The foundation had cut-outs for the moving beams, and the cutouts were filled with concrete and glass blocks. One of the cup-out areas leaks - it is a cut-out that is under the concrete patio that was poured in 1995.

I have a basement with some dampness and mold and a crawl space that needs to be sealed. Can you help in Waverly, IA please.
Project Location: Waverly, IA
Standing water in backyard after heavy rain. Water comes into basement through window well since water finds the void and comes up into the window well, Gutters and down spouts direct water to side yard so water drains toward front yard, correctly. However, backyard is lower than neighbor's yards. Water that collects needs to be redirected and drainage improved so water avoids coming up into the window well. Can an egress window with proper drainage improve the situation? Water does not flow into window well from ground level, but up, from the bottom of the window well.
