Brian C., of Davenport, Iowa, had several common basement ailments when he reached out to the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems initially. Visible cracks in foundation walls, some of the walls were bowing inward, water was coming in from the floor, and he was concerned about all of these issues.
Design specialist, and Resident Sales Pro, Chris DeVore designed him a customized system that would attack all of these, very common, basement concerns.
This project was a large undertaking so was divided into two parts. The first MidAmerica Basement Systems waterproofing team, lead by Bryce M., covered the walls in CleanSpace.
CleanSpace is a bright white, 20-millimeter-thick liner, with layers of polyester cord reinforcement. It is designed to last as long as the home. The waterproofing team, also installed a full-perimeter of WaterGuard drainage channel, a Sump Pump with multiple pumps, and three new basement windows.
For the second half of this project, the MidAmerica Basement Systems Wall Anchor team, lead by Jon H., were charged with installing 8 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, and 4 PowerBraces. Brian wanted to be sure that he would never have to worry about this issue again. A common misconception about foundation cracks of this kind is that you can simply fill them to stop the water from coming in. But that does not address the underlying issue of the outside pressure pushing in on the foundation walls and causing them to bow inward. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors and PowerBraces stabilize the walls permanently for the home owner, and in many instances, can actually push them back to their original positions over time, with routine tightening.
With the efforts by MidAmerica Basement Systems, Brian can rest easy when heavy rains occur, and know that his foundation is secure. He also has a bright, clean, dry space that is full of possibilities.
