Don’t Replace, Get Concrete Patio Repair

Often in residential construction, the sidewalks and patios are the last of the concrete to be placed. Before they are placed, it is likely that most of the dirt around the home has been excavated and the soil has been disrupted. This disrupted soil is not as compact and sturdy as the native soil, which can cause problems in the future for concrete patio settlement.

These concrete patios can sink and even crack over time. This can cause tripping hazards, making it unsafe for your family to walk on. Aside from safety, it can also be very unsightly and potentially decrease your home’s value if it’s not fixed. If someone were to get hurt on your uneven concrete patio, it would be your responsibility as the homeowner.

Large voids underneath the patios had left the seating areas unlevel.

At MidAmerica Basement Systems, we use PolyLevel to lift uneven concrete patios and create a safe, even surface. It is a polyurethane injection foam that instantly expands and lifts your sunken slab. We simply drill a dime-size hole into the slab to inject the foam. Once it’s injected, it is liquefied but then expands to foam and becomes a very dense, durable substance that expands and lifts your concrete.

In some cases, your patio may need a complete replacement. If it has broken concrete slabs or a lot of pitting and flaking beyond repair, you may need to replace. If you simply have a sunken slab that’s creating an uneven surface, we can quickly repair that with PolyLevel.

Mudjacking is a traditional method for lifting sunken concrete patios, but it is not as effective as PolyLevel. Mudjacking requires a bigger hole to be drilled into your concrete and a mix of mud and slurry are injected under the slab. Over time, this can wash out and cause your slab to sink again.

MidAmerica Basement Systems can lift your sunken concrete patio with PolyLevel to give you back a safe and even surface for your family to enjoy. Contact us today for your free quote!
