Jamie was afraid her drain tile would become clogged like it had in the past and she really wanted to finish her basement. She was referred to MidAmerica Basement Systems to get a free estimate.
Soon after giving them a call, an appointment was set up for Mike Banks to come evaluate the basement. Mike decided the best solution for the water problem was to install a TripleSafe pumping system and a full perimeter of WaterGuard drainage system around the basement. The TripleSafe pumping system will keep the basement dry and be able to keep up with any rain storm. The full perimeter of WaterGuard drainage system will make sure the water is directed to the pumping system throughout the entire business. Since Jamie also wanted to finish her basement, Mike proposed the Basement to Beautiful panels. These panels are a good look and will keep the water out.
Jamie could not be happier with her decision to have her basement waterproofed by MidAmerica Basement Systems. She no longer has to worry about water coming in her home when it rains.
Jessica was tired of dealing with water in her basement and having to look at a dreary crawlspace. She was referred to MidAmerica Basement Systems by a past customer to have a free estimate done.
After giving them a call, an appointment was set up for Joe Sarb to come diagnose the basement and crawlspace. Joe decided the best solution for the water issue was to install a TripleSafe pumping system to pump the water out and away from the home. Also, a full perimeter of WaterGuard drainage system to make sure the water has a way to travel to the pumping system. Finally, BrightWall strips to protect form the water coming in through the walls of the basement. For the crawlspace, Joe proposed encapsulating the entire area with CleanSpace, this will fully encapsulate the crawlspace making it cleaner and nearly impossible for animals to get in. Jessica is very happy with the work MidAmerica Basement Systems did and now has a care free basement.
This basement in Cedar Rapids is owned by Graig, who noticed the deterioration of his basement and wanted a solution that he could trust to be efficient and reliable. Graig called on the MidAmerica Basement Systems team and requested to have one of our experts come out to his home and assess the problem.
With a greater understanding of what was happening and what can be done (including cost) to remedy Graig's basement troubles, Graig agreed. With Bill Wilcox as Primary Foreman, the team began working on Graig's basement. First, the team installed the TripleSafe sump pump system to alleviate the basement of further flood damage. The TripleSafe sump pump system is powerful enough to pump out at least 12,000 gallons of water (the average size of basements from floor to ceiling) and smart enough to alert Graig if there is ever a problem.
Next, the team addressed water leaks from the foundation walls by installing the WaterGuard system, which is able to re-direct leaks to the TripleSafe sump pump. Finally, the team lined the most evidently damaged foundation walls with none other than the CleanSpace liner wall system. A revolutionary product that is resistant to tears and punctures (so it's long lasting) and is also made with an anti-microbial additive that wards off mold and bacteria growth.
Graig included other exclusive Basement Systems products, such as the IceGuard, which comes to action in the case of a pipe freezing during winter. And the LawnScape well outlet, which is extremely popular for discharge lines on sump pumps to direct water away from the home. Graig can now rest easy knowing that his basement will be dry and healthy.
MidAmerica appreciates Graig's business. The team is happy that they were able to not only help Graig waterproof his basement, but was also able to ensure that Graig got everything he wanted...and nothing he didn't!
Tony and Dawn, homeowners of this Cedar Rapids home, really wanted to have a warm, bright and inviting basement. Starting with the windows. They called the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems and the expert, Joe Sarb, had the perfect solution that would not only provide Tony and Dawn with everything they wanted (like brightness and warmth) but also the things they needed (like durability and waterproof). Tony and Dawn were excited at the possibilities and soon the MidAmerica got to work.
With Mike Keck leading the team, they began by digging a hole around the exterior ground level window. Then they began enlarging the original window size to fit the new, larger energy efficient StakWel Egress window. To encapsulate the StakWel Egress window, the team installed the SunHouse. A durable window dressing that keeps weed, leaves and rain at bay. The SunHouse has a sturdy, clear lid that allows plenty of natural light in. The SunHouse is also a bright white color which allows light to bounce off and illuminate dark spaces.
Tony and Dawn are pleased that they have such an aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient, durable window/window dressing and MidAmerica is thrilled to have fulfilled another families basement needs!
Ashley just purchased this home in Cedar Rapids. The home was built in the 1920's, so Ashley knew her new home may need some TLC. What Ashley didn't know until after it rained, was the substantial problem occurring in her basement. Ashley called MidAmerica Basement Systems about a massive leak that resembled more of a waterfall than a leak. Given that the home was built years ago, there was no way of knowing how long the problem has plagued this basement or how severe the damage was. Ashley called the MidAmerica Basement Systems team and an expert was sent out to the home for a free inspection and estimate.
Once Ashley understood what was happening and what could be done, the MidAmerica team began the plan to restore Ashely's basement. To address the problem of flooding from the amount of water coming in, the TripleSage Sump Pump was installed. With the ability to pump out massive amount of water with its 3 in 1 advanced pumping system, the "waterfall" Ashley described met its match. The basement was then installed with the WaterGuard waterproofing system, which redirects wall leaks to the TripleSafe sump pump. The walls were then fitted with BrightWall. BrightWall is not only designed to brighten dark basements by giving it a "finished" look, but also is made of inorganic materials making it resistant to mold.
Now when Ashley goes down to her basement, she no longer worries about leaks or "waterfalls". MidAmerica is proud to have helped to restore this older basement for its newest homeowner!
Mike wanted to insulate and encapsulate his space and requested an estimate from MidAmerica Basement Systems. Michael Banks went out to inspect the space and provide Mike a plan and an estimate. Mike Clementz was the lead foreman for the job and though they had very limited space to work, they were able to give the homeowner, Mike, everything he asked for and needed. The team installed CleanSpace to seal Mike's crawl space from the exposed earth. They installed the SmartDrain which will drain leaks that may potentially occur. The Smart Drain comes with the WaterWatch, which will alert Mike of those potential leaks. The SaniDry was installed to keep humidity levels low, preventing mold growth and foul smells. The team further sealed the space from outside influences by sealing the vents with vent covers.
Mike's crawl space is healthier, dryer and much more comfortable.
James P. of Cedar Rapids called the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems and explained that he was noticing cracks in his basements that would leak whenever it would rain and expressed that he wanted to waterproof his basement. After speaking with the office staff, an appointment was set up for Dustin Shepard to come evaluate the basement. After Dustin assessed the basement, he decided the best solution for this particular problem was to have a TripleSafe pumping system, a couple laterals, and a full perimeter of WaterGuard installed. The laterals are a drainage material that is placed through the middle of the basement floor to get any water that comes up through the floor and takes it to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a channeling system around the inside perimeter of the basement and it take the water from the basement to the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe pumping system is the best in the business at getting all of the water up, out, and safely away from the home.
Rob K. is very happy to no longer have to worry about water in his basement. He appreciates everything MidAmerica Basement Systems did for him and would recommend them to anyone with a basement issue.

Dustin Shepard was the design specialist who went out to give the estimate. Dustin decided the best solution was to install a radon mitigation system and a domed sump pump lid. The domed lid covers and seals the sump pit so that none to very little of the moisture can escape. The radon mitigation system will drastically lower the radon and also monitor the current radon level.
Nevin M. is very happy to no longer have to worry about the radon levels in his home. He would recommend MidAmerica Basement Systems to anyone who has radon worries.

Upon inspection, specialists concluded that a SuperSump, WaterGuard, and CleanSpace be installed to address her water situation. CleanSpace and WaterGuard help direct any water that seeps into the basement, to the SuperSump, so water can be properly discharged from the home.
Neil had noticed that his driveway had settled about two inches lower than his garage slab. He had previously had work down with MidAmerica Basement Systems and reached out to them again. Over time, the fill soil under the concrete driveway had settled, creating voids under them, this then caused the driveway to become unlevel with the garage slab. A specialist suggested using PolyLevel to help lift the concrete slabs back to their original height. Now Neil’s transition from garage to driveway is smooth and unnoticeable.
Keith lived in an older home, and with older homes comes ground settlement and shifts. The ground around his home was causing pressure against the walls, making the bow inward. Bowing walls can cause an unstable home to live in if not addressed properly. MidAmerica Basement Systems offered the installing of PowerBraces for Keith’s home. PowerBraces are a patented tightening I-Beam system that improve the wall’s condition over time. Installing PowerBraces are very strategic, making sure that the weight of the wall is evenly distributed along the wall, while properly distributing the rest of the home’s weight. With the PowerBraces installed, Keith has a permanent, stable foundation that can over time, reverse and straighten the walls to their original positions.
Foundation cracks had formed over the years in Jerry’s home, causing water to leak in from them when it rained. MidAmerica Basement Systems provided a solution to his problem. WaterGuard and lateral drains were installed to help prevent water from surfacing and pooling. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the foundation to collect any water that was coming in from the cracks in the foundation wall, while lateral drains were installed along the cracks of the foundation floor. Now the water that enters Jerry’s home is properly directed to his sump pump system, preventing water from surfacing and pooling in his basement.
Don and Leza were looking to install a waterproofing system in their leaking basement, and had heard about the products offered by MidAmerica Basement Systems. Two SuperSump systems were installed in Don and Leza’s large basement to prevent their basement from flooding during rain storms. One SuperSump has the capability of pumping 2,220 gallons of water an hour. Thanks to MidAmerica Basement Systems, they now have a dry basement and couldn’t be happier.
Jeremy has an older home with basement foundation cracks. During extremely large amounts of rain fall, some cracks have small leakage. To address his issue, Jeremy contacted the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. A Polyurethane Crack Sealant was injected into each of the crack, providing a durable, flexible seal. The flexible seal allows for the polyurethane to shift and move with the forever settling and shifting of the foundation. Water no longer seeps into the foundation cracks due to the sealant.
Gene was having an issue with water in one of his properties. He already had a sump pump installed but the tenants were still having issues with water seeping in the basement. Upon inspection, specialists of MidAmerica Basement Systems recommended installing WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a drainage system that helps collect and direct water to the sump pump, rather than surfacing and pooling on the ground. With a proper waterproofing system, the tenants have a dry basement, and Gene has happy tenants.
Bryan was looking to turn his basement into an entertainment area, but was nervous about putting the time and money into it due to his leaking foundation walls. He had a sump pump, but didn’t seem to be very effective when water was reaching the surface of his floor. When a representative from MidAmerica Basement Systems arrived at his home, it was suggested installing CleanSpace and WaterGuard to address the leaking walls. CleanSpace provides a moisture barrier between his wall and basement, sealing out unwanted moisture. Along the base of the walls, WaterGuard was installed to collect the water running off the walls. After entering the WaterGuard, water is properly directed to the sump pump where it is properly discharged from the home. Now with a fully waterproofed basement, Bryan can continue to finish his basement without the worry of water damage.
Phil and Laura were having issues with water coming up through their floor foundation cracks. This was a large concern for them, because they thought the only way that it could be fix was demoing the whole floor and laying down new concrete. During their waterproofing inspection, Dustin of MidAmerica Basement Systems offered them a relief to their floor. With the installation of WaterGuard and Lateral drain systems, water will no longer seep in through the floor cracks, but instead flow into the drains to be directed to the TripleSafe sump. Without the help from the Lateral drains, water would surface to the floor, making the basement wet.
PolyLevel is a new start of the art approach to lifting and leveling sinking slabs. Similar to mudjacking, PolyLevel provides a better and more accurate solution. The lightweight polymer material fills voids and lifts concrete without the extra stress applied to the failed fill soil. Weighing less than 4 pounds per cubic foot, compared to the 120 pounds per cubic foot of mudjacking slurry, it can lift up to 4,000 pounds per square foot. The quick drying time allows for area usage after 15 minutes of injection rather than days after injection of mudjacking. PolyLevel is extremely accurate, over- or under-lifting is never a worry.
When concrete slabs settle, it can produce tripping hazards. Stan was concerned about the large difference from his driveway to the walkway to the front door. He contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have his hazard addressed. PolyLevel was injected to lift and level the two areas of concrete, allowing for a smooth transition from driveway to walkway. With PolyLevel, Stan was able to use his driveway and walkway within minutes after the crew had completed his job. With PolyLevel, he now has safe walking areas for his guests and himself.
Settled soil can cause voids underneath concrete slabs, leading to sunken and even cracked concrete. Injecting PolyLevel with MidAmerica Basement Systems offers a long-lasting lifting and leveling solution. Small holes, roughly the size of a dime, are drilled into the concrete to inject PolyLevel. The high-density polymers fill the voids, expanding to lift the concrete. The quick reaction time offers for a precise lift, leveling the concrete slabs in minutes. PolyLevel has a fast cure time, allowing for accessibility to the area in as soon as 15 minutes after injection. PolyLevel is the new, permanent solution to concrete lifting and leveling.
Ashley had an older home, and over the years her small seeping foundation had turned a waterfall stream. She reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her problem fixed. It was suggested that she have BrightWall, WaterGuard and a TripleSafe installed. The BrightWall gives the basement a vapor barrier from the water the enters in through to foundation, directing it to the WaterGuard. WaterGuard is placed around the perimeter of the basement to collect water that seeps in the foundation, and is directed to the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe than discharges all the water that enters the home, back out, leaving the basement dry.
Due to the cracks in between concrete slabs, rain water can easily seep down, causing the ground to wash out. Wash outs then leave voids under the concrete, causing them to sink and even crack under extreme conditions. Appling NexusPro Joint Sealant, water can no longer seep in between the slabs, helping the ground under the slabs keep longer. NexusPro also blends with the concrete, reducing the appearance of unsightly cracks caused by voids. NexusPro helps the life extension of concrete slabs.
PolyLevel is a state of the art approach to repairing sunken concrete, with a twist of the old mud jacking ways. Using modern technology and knowledge, PolyLevel offers many more advantages. Holes, roughly 5/8 inch in size, are drilled into the concrete so the high-density polymers can fill the voids that have formed underneath the slabs. After all voids are filled, the PolyLevel expands, lifting and leveling to sunken slabs. The lightweight material weighs less than 4lbs per cubic foot compared to the 120lbs of mud jacking slurry, offering less stress weight on the soil. PolyLevel also has a quick drying time, allowing access to the injected area within 15 minutes of application. Mud jacking can take several days to cure, preventing the use of the area.
Gary and Marilyn were having concerns about their sump system. During heavy rains, their sump pump would become overwhelmed, causing the system to back up and flood the basement. They reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their issue addressed. It was offered to have a TripleSafe sump installed to help properly accommodate the existing sump. The TripleSafe sump also offers a battery back-up pump to help Gary and Marilyn rest at ease during power outages. They no longer run into a flooded basement issue.
Basements are cold and damp, making them unpleasant to be in. Installing the right insulation can be tricky due to the damp concrete walls. MidAmerica Basement Systems offers special basement insulation called Foamax that will not be damaged by moisture! The foam boards are made of polyisocyanurate, giving the insulation one of the high R-values available. Foamax not only insulated the basement to make the area warmer and energy efficient, it also provides a bright, clean look. The tough, white surface, hides the dirty, ugly, damp walls, brightening the space for an enjoyable living area.
Corinne had noticed her concrete driveway and sidewalk has begun to sink, leaving the area unsafe to walk on. She had heard about MidAmerica Basement Systems’ injection technology, PolyLevel. Small 5/8th sized holes were drilled into the concrete to inject the PolyLevel to fill the voids, and lift the concrete. The quick drying time had the area stabilized in minutes, reducing the tripping hazards. After PolyLevel was injected, the driveway and sidewalk was sealed with NexusPro. NexusPro helps prevent future washouts, extending the life of the concrete slabs.
Chris noticed the carpet in his basement had become wet, posing threat to the rest of his finished basement. He called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems, hoping it wasn’t too late. Drywall was pulled off the walls to expose a 6-foot leaking foundation crack. FlexiSpan Crack Repair was injected into the crack, providing a permanent seal. FlexiSpan is made of a polyurethane material that allows for the seal to expand and shift with the natural movement of the wall. This give it a tight, permanent bond so Chris will never have to worry of the seal cracking or drying, or the crack itself from becoming worse.
Roxanne was having concerns with her cracked patio. Over the years, the area had sunk, causing stress on the concrete that lead to cracking. She did not want to have the area re-poured but didn’t want it to come worse over time. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have the patio repaired. She was offered PolyLevel to lift and level the sunken areas, and a NexusPro Joint Sealant to provide a longer-lasting solution to the area. PolyLevel is a lightweight material that stabilizes the sunken concrete. NexusPro is a flexible sealant that allows for expanding and shirking with the natural movement of the concrete. This creates a permanent seal to divert water away from the cracks, and help protect the soil against washouts.
Toni was furious when the power went out and her basement flooded due to the lack of her sump not being able to work. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have a battery back-up system installed. An UltraSump was installed to aid in her already existing waterproofing system. The UltraSump not only works when the power goes out, but ensure that water will be discharged when circuits are tripped and when sump pumps fail. It also has an alert that alarms you when the backup system has kicked on. Toni no longer stresses during power failures thanks to the UltraSump Batter Back-up system.
Craig and Shey were concerned about the power outage they had during a huge storm. Their sump pump had quit working and flooded the basement. When MidAmerica Basement Systems arrived to address their issue, it was proposed that a TripleSafe be installed.
