Joyce was tired of dealing with all her basement issues by herself so she called in the experts. She was referred to MidAmerica Basement Systems for a free estimate.
After calling the office, an appointment was set up for Mac McDaniel to come evaluate her basement. Mac decided the best solution for her basement was to use Wall Anchors and Power Braces to keep the walls from falling in, as well as pushing them back to their upright positions. Mac also diagnosed a water problem and decided a TripleSafe pumping system and some WaterGuard would solve the issue. The solution included PowerBraces all around the interior of the basement, as all four walls were starting to bow. The PowerBraces stabilize the walls, and also the potential for correcting the problem overtime. Mike also recommended full perimeter WaterGuard, a buried discharge line, and a new SuperSump Sump Pump. Additionally, Carol had a SaniDry, self-draining dehumidifier installed to help prevent mold and regulate moisture in her home. With the new waterproofing and wall stabilization systems installed, Carol is sleeping easy, thanks to her dry, stable basement.

Bob of Moline couldn’t understand why his electric bill was so high every month when his home was only 620 sq. ft. Upon research, he discovered that untreated crawl spaces have cooler temperatures which push up through the home, cooling the home, which causes the furnace to run more.
The experts at MidAmercia Basement Systems installed a spray foam to insulate the crawl space. Insulating the crawl space alone will not completely fix your problem, but will help a little. To make a significant difference in energy savings, the crawl space should be completely encapsulated. Completely isolating the crawl space from outside elements, the dirt floor and walls has CleanSpace installed over them. CleanSpace is a thick liner that won’t tear or puncture, allowing it to completely encapsulate the area – keeping to cold out, and the warm in. Now Bob can run his furnace without paying a fortune.
Robert M. lives in an older home with foundation built out of concrete block. Over the years, the ground around his home has settled, causes stress on his foundation. The settlement of the ground was causing the walls to bow, and because his foundation was made out of concrete block, cracks were forming along the foundation seal. The experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems suggested that a PowerBrace system be installed to prevent the walls from bowing any further. Over time, PowerBraces may potentially straighten the foundation walls back to their original state.
Bob of Davenport was noticing a tripping hazard on his walkway to him front door, and was concerned about his guests’ safety. When he contacted the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems, they recommend PolyLevel and NexusPro. PolyLevel was injected to level the uneven walkway so a tripping hazard was no longer an issue to worry about. NexusPro was applied to all cracks along the walkway and driveway to help prevent water from seeping into the cracks. When water has access through the cracks of the concrete slabs, it allows for the ground underneath to wash out, causing voids under the concrete slabs. Voids under the concrete slabs than cause the slabs to become uneven and unsafe to walk on. NexusPro is a great solution to help prevent wash-outs under your concrete slabs, and keep your concrete healthy and safe.
It is not uncommon for a garage to be built out of concrete block, especially when it is the main foundation to your home. They offered the installation of a Helical Anchor system. A Helical Anchor system offers the similar support of an I-beam, while providing an anchoring system in the ground. The Michigan Ledge was properly braced with the Helical Anchor system so all areas of the wall were receiving the same amount of force, to prevent bowing for worsening. With the proper foundation repair system installed, Melissa now has the confidence that the wall will not bow inward, and even potentially be straightened back to its original state.

CarbonArmor was properly distributed throughout the foundation wall to provide a permanent solution and proper load distribution on the rest of the home.
Stair step cracking is never a good sign, it poses threat to a failing foundation. MidAmerica Basement Systems offers many permanent solutions to solution the issue. One solution is a PowerBrace system that uses a tightening bracket that can potentially straighten the wall back to normal over time. The system is properly connected to the existing floor joist system to evenly distribute the weight of the home and protect the joist system from damaging. If the joist system cannot properly stand the pressure of the PowerBrace system, horizontal I-beams are placed in between the PowerBraces to provide the proper strength and support.

During inspection, it was noted that the small foundation cracks were allowing water to come through and appear on the floors and walls. It was suggested she had CleanSpace and WaterGuard added to her previous sump system. CleanSpace was placed along the walls to create a vapor barrier between the basement and leaking walls, directing it to the WaterGuard. WaterGuard than collects and directs water to the existing SuperSump. With CleanSpace and WaterGuard working together, water no longer surfaces in the basement and is directly sent to the pump.
Amy had a sump pump system installed roughly 11 years ago with another company and was having doubts of the pump failing due to years of use. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have an expert’s opinion on what should be done. Crewmen also installed a Radon Mitigation system to pull the Radon out from under his home, preventing it from entering the structure, and back outside. Thanks to the waterproofing system, Brain has a dry basement, while the Radon Mitigation system keeps the air safer for him to breathe.
Sue recently purchased a Radon test kit to check the levels in her home. To her surprise the levels were outrageous, posing large threat to her and her family’s health. She contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have an expert install a mitigation system for them. During the installation, crewmen had to encapsulate the crawlspace, which was the main entry of the Radon. Cracks and vents were sealed, and CleanSpace Liner was installed to properly seal off the ground from the rest of the home. A Radon mitigation system was then installed under the CleanSpace liner and directed out of the home, so Radon could properly and effectively be pulled out, leaving the air healthier and safer for Sue and her family to breathe.

WaterGuard collects and redirects moisture to the sump pump to have it properly discharged from her home. Kristine no longer worries about water seeping in her basement no matter the rainfall.
Voids under concrete can be caused by many different things. Over time the ground can settle and shift, leaving gaps between the concrete and soil. Rainfall can seep down in between the cracks, causing washouts of the soil under the concrete. Injecting PolyLevel under the concrete will fill the voids, and lift the concrete. The lightweight material that is injected, reduces the stress on the soil to help prevent future compression. The high-density polymers are waterproof that will not washout due to water, and will not rot or deteriorate over time. Adding a NexusPro Joint Sealant will also help create a longer-lasting stabilization of the ground by redirecting water away from the ground under the slabs.
