Helical Piers are designed to attempt to lift the home back to its original position. It is a solution that causes minimal disturbance and yet is more effective than other solutions. The experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems install the pier system from the exterior or interior of the home. Helical Piers are effective at closing cracks caused by settlement which improves the operation of doors and windows.

First, soil is removed from the area where the Helical Piers will be installed, and then sections are advanced into the soil. Once proper depth is achieved, heavy-duty foundation brackets are positioned below the footing. The weight of the home is then transferred through the Helical Piers to deep, competent soils, lifting the home back to its proper place.

Basement Finishing & Remodeling in Swisher, IA

Waterproofing your basement prevents outside water from coming in, but what if a pipe bursts or the water heater leaks inside the home? A newly finished basement done by your average contractor will mold and rot if there is an internal leak. You'll have to tear out your new basement! We fix this issue.

Our Products Include :
  • Waterproof, washable, insulated walls
  • Mold-Resistant, No-Sag suspended ceiling
  • Modular carpet, tile & faux wood flooring

  • Energy-efficient, double-paned basement windows
  • Attractive Sunhouse basement window wells
  • French, bifold, louvre & six-paneled steel doors
Unlike the average Swisher contractor, we use completely inorganic, waterproof materials. Even if the basement floods, your walls and floors will not be damaged by the water. These waterproof products are patented and are built to create an attractive finished basement that lasts a lifetime.

Just purchased the home. It has termite damage, but not sure to what extent. I know that one support beam in the basement is collapsing . the beam spans the length of the basement and consists of three 2x12's. two of the the three appear to pretty much eaten hallow. there are other signs of damage, but not to the extent of the one beam, however they may need replacing as well.

Project Location: Swisher, IA
I spoke with Frank Schultz at a goft outing in Iowa City on 9/9/2016. My driveway has settle at the entrance to my two stall garage 3"-4" causing a bump. I would like this area lifted and leveled. I also have a 10'x10' concrete patio in my backyard that has settle 3"-4" where it meets the foundation of my house causing water to pool against the foundation during rains. I would like this area lift to create positive drainage away from the foundation.

I had my home tested for Radon and it came back just over the "safe limit" of 4. I wanted to know if I could get an estimate on how much it would cost to get this mitigated. Thank you!

Residential house basement foundation crack. Repair needed 8 ft poured basement under a ranch style house. Crack increases in width going up. Greatest width of crack around 1/2 inch at top. Water, soil, and breeze entering basement. Exterior crack location is 1 ft behind an air conditioning unit, 1 ft away from underground electrical line, and 3 ft from 500sqft deck. Interior location of crack is 1 ft from electrical breaker box, going behind 2 horizontal wooden studs, and 2 ft above ceiling. I have already had utility companies mark exterior grounds, and I have removed drywall and insulation in interior location
