Challenge

Shanon had purchased her home a few years ago and was happy to have a finished basement. Until large storms came through and caused a large issue in her basement. The flooring and walls had begun to warp and crack due to a leaking foundation. Wall paneling and laminate flooring had to be removed due to excessive moisture damage, leaving Shanon’s basement unsightly.

Solution

She reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her basement waterproofed before moving forward with a new remolding process. Foreman Mike, had installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement to help collect seeping water, preventing it from surfacing, and redirect it to one of two TripleSafe sumps. A SaniDry Sedona was also installed to keep humidity levels under control, allowing for a properly dry basement. Since Shanon was planning on finishing her basement after it was waterproofed, she wanted to add natural light into her basement. It was offered to have RockWell Egress Window systems to allow for natural light, while offering an emergency route for her and her guests. The RockWell egress systems give the window well a finished natural look and significantly increasing the natural light in the basement.
