After large rain falls, Kelly had begun noticing water leaking into her basement. After many different estimates and quotes, she had become overwhelmed with all the options but didn’t know what was the best. After talking with Cole from MidAmerica Basement Systems, he had offered Kelly a system that no one else suggested. Cole offered her a TripleSafe sump that has two primary pumps and a battery back-up pump for power outages. He also suggested installing a WaterGuard system that helps collect the seeping water before it surfaces, and redirects the water to the sump pump. CleanSpace Liner was also placed along the bottom portion of the walls to help collect seeping wall water. With the full waterproofing system installed in Kelly’s basement, she no longer worries of a leaking basement, and knows that she has the appropriate and proper waterproof system installed.

CleanSpace & Radon Mitigation Shields Crawl Space in Princeton, IL

This crawl space in Princeton belongs to Harlan. Harlan wanted his space restored, waterproofed, and protected. He called MidAmerica Basement Systems to remedy the problem once and for all.

A MidAmerica team member and trained professional, was sent to inspect/test the home, advised Harlan of what should be done and quoted Harlan the same day. Once the game plan was set, the MidAmerica team began encapsulating the space. The experts were able to protect the crawl space from increasing Radon levels by installing radon mitigation system. The system collects soil gasses and a radon depressurization vent forces radon out from the home.

The floor of the crawlspace was fitted with a polyethylene drainage matting that creates an airspace for water to flow to under the CleanSpace liner. The CleanSpace liner creates a vapor barrier. The liner is durable, effective, and transforms any crawl space into a brighter, cleaner, and safer space.

Harlan can breathe happy and healthy knowing that his home is protected. MidAmerica is honored to help provide safer homes for their customers!

Egress Window Installed in Sheffield, IL

Homeowners Luis and Talia called the MidAmerica Basement System for the StakWel Egress window system.

Egress window systems allow natural light into the basement which can really elevate the space. Not only are egress windows aesthetically pleasing but they should also provide an extra exit out of the basement in the event of a fire or emergency. MidAmerica Basement Systems install egress windows that satisfy Section 310.4 of UBC and the IRC 2000 Building Code for basement egress. Egress windows should also be energy efficient and rot and mildew resistant.

Window Well systems like the StakWel not only compliment the egress window by enhancing natural light into the basement, it also helps to waterproof the window. MidAmerica basement Systems install window systems that come with sump liners and exits to keep water from entering through the window. The StakWel is a durable solution that has steps cast into the system to allow for an easier and faster exit out of the basement. The StakWel A durable clear covering that can be place on to top of the StakWel to prevent debris from falling into the window well system and yet is light enough to open from the inside in case of emergency.
