The sunken and cracked concrete around your Delaware County home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse, but we can fix it for you.
Our experts use PolyLevel, a superior polyurethane foam. Small holes are drilled in the concrete, the foam is injected and the expanding foam lifts the concrete. The majority of contractors you will call use mudjacking instead of foam. Mudjacking is heavier, require larger holes in the concrete and does not last as long as PolyLevel. Terry is the homeowner of these TWO crawl spaces in East Moline and wanted them both cleaned up and insulated. Terry called the MidAmerica Basement Systems team and the team sent expert Mac McDaniel in to inspect the spaces. Terry agreed to the game plan and the team sent out lead foreman Justin Bailey to head the project.
The first crawl space is the larger of the two. The team cleared out all the debris and then laid out CleanSpace Drainage Matting. The drainage system is a dimpled polyethylene membrane material that allows water to flow underneath the CleanSpace liner. The team installed SilverGlo on the walls which is a foil backed foam insulating material. The SilverGlo is impregnated with graphite, which reduces heat from escaping the space. SilverGlo is inorganic making it unlikely to deteriorate. The space was sealed with CleanSpace liner wit is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that has multiple layers of plastics with differentiating flexibility making it resistant to tears and punctures. CleanSpace is an inorganic material that also has an antimicrobial additive called UnltraFresh which prevents mold growth on the liner. The second crawl space is smaller and was fitted with the CleanSpace liner as well. MidAmerica Basement Systems is happy to have provided Terry with two clean, comfortable, and insulated crawl spaces!
Ryan's basement was flooding a lot. His house is at the bottom of a hill and water was running into the driveway. Since his curbs are level with the street, so every time it would rain, the water would go into his basement. Ryan asked his friend, a former customer of MidAmerica Basement Systems, who to call.
Our system design specialist, Mike Banks was able to reccommend a reasonably priced system that would help solve Ryan's problem once and for all.
Our team, lead by foreman Robbie Stoltenberg, installed a new CleanSpace wall, and a full perimeter waterproofing system.
For Ryan, a damp basement is a thing of the past!
Ryan and Marie F. were tired of dealing with the water issue in their basement. They found MidAmerica Basement Systems online and decided to give them a call for a free estimate.
After a short phone call, an appointment was set up with Bryan Christopherson to come to their home and give the free estimate. Bryan decided the best solution for their particular issue was to install a SuperSump pumping system and a drainage lateral. The drainage lateral is installed underneath the basement floor to get unwanted water to travel to the SuperSump. The SuperSump pumping system is a single sump pump that will take the water up and safely away from the home.
Ryan and Marie F. were very pleased with the work done by MidAmerica Basement Systems. They no longer have to worry about their basement and couldn’t be happier.
After living in their home for two years, Mallory and Ryan R. of Waterloo, IA noticed that "the tiny crack in their basement" had turned into something much worse. Additionally, the walls were bowing and water was getting in. They decided to call the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Soon, design specialist Kiel Marks came out to the property to investigate the foundation and water intrusion issues. A custom plan was created for the customers to stabilize the walls and waterproof the basement. Foreman Justin Bailey would be on the job.
The walls were stabilized using PowerBraces. Additionally, a new sump pump and discharge line were installed. Now the basement looks great, and no longer has water issues. Additionally, the foundation has been stabilized. The homeowner sleeps easy at night.
Over the years, the ground under concrete settles and creates voids. These voids can cause stress on the concrete slabs, producing sloping and cracks. The change in moisture, wash-outs, and poorly compacted soil under the slabs are just a few of the causes of stress. Injecting PolyLevel under the slabs will fill the voids, will providing a precise lift and level. For this home in Manchester, the driveway around the garage had sunken and stressed causing multiple cracks and tripping hazards. Not to mention an unpleasant site for any visitors to the home. Crew members from MidAmerica Basement Systems addressed the issue with the injection of PolyLevel. PolyLevel lifted and sealed the cracks that were in the driveway. The restored concrete provided a safe area to walk for all visitors of the home.
Steve was having issues with his concrete driveway and backyard patio sinking. He was concerned that he was going to have to tear up the entire area to get the concrete back to a level state. Joe, from MidAmerica Basement Systems offered a more reasonable solution, PolyLevel. PolyLevel is similar to mud jacking, producing more effective results. Drilling small, 5/8 inch holes, the polyurethane mixture fills all voids, and precisely lifts and levels sunken concrete. The quick reaction time of the PolyLevel prevents under- or over-lifting of the slabs, assuring a level outcome every time. PolyLevel also offers a lightweight material that prevents extra stress on the soil under the concrete, producing a more permanent solution that mud jacking. With PolyLevel, there is no need to demo old sunken concrete and replacing it brand new. It helped Steve save plenty of money, and also providing a longer-lasting, more effective, solution to leveling his concrete.
A common solution to leveling sunken driveways and sidewalks is the use of mudjacking. MidAmerica Basement Systems offers a more permanent, state of the art solution called PolyLevel. Small, 5/8-inch holes, are drilled into the concrete to inject PolyLevel. The material fills all the voids and expands, producing quick results, with accurate lifting and leveling abilities. PolyLevel has a quick curing time, allowing for access to the area within 15 minutes, rather than the few days even weeks it takes mudjacking to set. Chad was having issues with a leaking basement and didn’t know what to do to fix his problem. He heard about MidAmerica Basement Systems and reached out for a free estimate. Joyce was having concerns of leaking floors in her basement and turned to MidAmerica Basement Systems for help. Bryan had offered her the solution of a SuperSump with a UltraSump battery back-up and WaterGuard. The SuperSump would be able to handle to water that entered the basement, allowing for the proper pumping compacity. The UltraSump was installed to insure the system would work during power outages. WaterGuard was placed along the basement’s perimeter to keep water from surfacing and that the water was properly redirected to the sump system.
Steve was in need of a waterproofing system and reached out to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. Bryan proposed a TripleSafe and LateralDrains to address the water issue in his basement. The LateralDrains were an important part of the system because of the floor cracks.
