Total Basement Finishing can turn any basement into a livable area, making it seem like it was never a basement. EverLast Wall Panels and ThermalDry Flooring are a few products offered by Total Basement Finishing. Due to the products being completely made of inorganic materials, there is no worry to these products ruining from moisture. EverLast Wall Panels are durable and insulated, making it strong enough to hang heavy objects without a stud system while creating a thermal break from the cold concrete walls. ThermalDry Flooring is a special snap together, pegged tile system. This allows for water and moisture to be properly dried underneath while creating a thermal break from the cold ground.
Grant and Andrea were having issues with a leaking basement and they have an existing sump pump. They contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their sump pump inspected. Cole had mentioned that the reason their basement was still becoming wet was due to the sump not being able to handle the amount of water that enters the basement. He suggested having a TripleSafe sump in addition to help aid the existing sump and adding WaterGuard around the perimeter to help redirect water that tries surfacing or seeping in through the foundation.

A homeowner in Milan, IL had a sidewalk that was sinking down causing a dangerous walk area for not only the homeowner but also for friends and family that come over often. The sidewalk continued to sink down even more over time. If the problem does not get taken care of sooner than later, the sidewalk could crack and become more dangerous. The homeowner came across an ad for MidAmerica Basement Systems online and contacted us right away and we were happy to help. A Design Specialist was able to come out to give the homeowner an estimate and go over exactly how the product would be installed.
PolyLevel was installed within this homeowner's home. PolyLevel fills the voids underneath the concrete slab where the fill soil was poorly compacted. It has the same idea as mud-jacking but involves no ripping up the sidewalk or any mud. It uses lightweight foam that is injected into the concrete slab. It starts first with drilling a dime size hole into the concrete slab. The PolyLevel is then injected into the slab and lifts the concrete back up in a controlled way. The holes are then sealed off and the sidewalk is usable again in about fifteen minutes. The foam is environmentally friendly and will not degrade in excessive heat and will not wash out over time.
The homeowner does not think twice about their driveway any more thanks to the MidAmerica Basement Systems Team. We were more than happy to help this homeowner out and get their sidewalk fixed. If you too have a sidewalk or driveway that is starting to sink or crack or would like to learn more about PolyLevel, do not hesitate to reach out to MidAmerica Basement Systems. Contact us today so we can bring you the peace of mind you are looking for!
Homeowner Richard has lived in his home for the last ten years. When the river flooded in the spring and the water invaded their home they knew it was in their best interest to seek professional advice. They had a new sump pump installed in their home however it was not enough. They had a water discharge line installed. in their home to aid in the removal of water in their basement.
MidAmerica Basement Systems proudly offer the highest quality technology in concrete repair. PolyLeveling is a great way to keep your existing concrete and still have it be safe and look great. First small ports are drilled into the slab until the void is reached. Then polyurethane foam is injected under the slab to fill the void that is causing the sinking. The foam then expands and hardens to lift the slab. After the slabs are lifted and leveled the concrete is safer and looks brand new.

Alex noticed water coming in from two different areas and with a thorough inspection the expert, Joe Sarb, was able to identify the issues and provide Alex with solutions.
Lead by lead foreman, Bill Wilcox, the team installed the TripleSafe sump pump, CleanSpace and WaterGuard. TripleSafe sump pump is the idea sump pump for spaces taking in substantial water and is the system that keeps a basement dry all the time. This 3 in 1 unit comes equipped with features that make it superior to other systems, such as the UltraSump. The UltraSump is the 3rd pump in the system that is the unit battery back-up sump pump in case of a power outage and the WaterWatch alarm system that will alert Alex of rising water in the system.
WaterGuard was installed as the perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard sits on top of the foundation footing and is designed to direct wall leaks and rising ground water to the TripleSafe sump pump. CleanSpace was fitted to the basement walls to further waterproof the space. CleanSpace is a tear and puncture resistant 7 layer material that has an antimicrobial additive that fight mold growth. The team also installed IceGuard, which is a basement saver during those cold winter months. The IceGuard prevents floods from frozen pipes by ejecting water way from the foundation walls.

Marilyn in Milan was beyond frustrated with her basement. She lived on the property for 60 years and remembers water coming into her basement since the beginning. Unsure of what to do, and who to call Marilyn was referred to the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems. Michael Banks was the expert that went out to Marilyn's home and was able to inspect the property, gave her a quote the same day, all at no cost to her. Excited to finally have a dry reliable space, Marilyn gave the okay and soon the MidAmerica experts were hard at work.
Under the direction of lead foreman, Mike Clementz, the team installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump, a remarkable system that is equipped with a 3 in 1 pump. The 3rd pump is dual battery operated and serves as a back-up pump in the event of a power-outage. The 2nd pump switches on if the first pump can’t keep up, and the first pump does most of the work. TripleSafe Sump Pumps are powerful enough to pump 12,000 gallons of water out of the space. The pumps are elevated with a pump stand, to keep it clean and safe from debris. The lid is airtight which is designed to prevent clogging, and it also prevents water evaporating back into the basement causing more humidity. The TripleSafe Sump Pump comes with a special alarm system that alerts the owners immediately if a problem is detected, giving the owner's time to address the matter before it gets any worse.
The walls are waterproofed using the CleanSpace liner. A durable liner that is resistant to tears/punctures, it has an antimicrobial agent to fight mold, and its bright white color transforms the space dramatically. The liner serves as a vapor barrier that also drains water behind it to the WaterGuard system. The WaterGuard system is built 3/8 between the floor and wall that directs leaks to the local TripleSafe Sump Pump.
The team installed the TrenchDrain at the bottom of stairs leading to an outside entrace. The TrenchDrain is perfect for spaces that have an entranceway from the outside to the basement. The TrenchDrain drains the water that can come in through these openings.
Marilyn is ecstatic to have her basement back without worry. She can use the base for storage feeling confident that her belongings will be safe. The MidAmerican Team is thrilled to have another happy customer and healthy basement! MidAmerica is especially grateful for customer referrals for they are the best testaments to what MidAmerica has done for the Quad Cities and surrounding areas for the last 25 years.
