Mike and Kim were having issues with water seeping into their basement during large heavy rains. They reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have their problem resolved. It was said that a TripleSafe sump would help prevent water from surfacing in their basement, keeping it dry, even during the heaviest rain falls. The TripleSafe sump also provides a battery back-up system to ensure the pump will still run during power outages. Mike and Kim no longer see water issues during heavy rains thanks to help from MidAmerica Basement Systems.

This Rapid City homeowner said goodbye to a damp, drafty crawlspace and hello to a healthier, more comfortable home thanks to crawlspace encapsulation!

Crawlspaces can become neglected areas under a house, prone to moisture problems, mold growth, and attracting pests. Encapsulation is a process that can significantly improve your crawlspace and your home as a whole.

Here's what crawlspace encapsulation typically involves:

  • Sealing the crawlspace: A heavy-duty vapor barrier is installed on the crawlspace floor and walls. This creates a moisture barrier that helps prevent dampness from entering the living space above.
  • Closing foundation vents (in some cases): Crawlspaces are often vented to allow for air circulation. However, in an encapsulated crawlspace, these vents are typically closed and sealed to further control moisture and maintain a consistent temperature.
  • Dehumidification: A dehumidifier may be installed in the crawlspace to help regulate moisture levels and prevent mold growth.
  • Insulation: Insulating the crawlspace walls can improve energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer between the crawlspace and the living area.

Basement Finishing & Remodeling in Rapids City, IL

Waterproofing your basement prevents outside water from coming in, but what if a pipe bursts or the water heater leaks inside the home? A newly finished basement done by your average contractor will mold and rot if there is an internal leak. You'll have to tear out your new basement! We fix this issue.

Our Products Include :
  • Waterproof, washable, insulated walls
  • Mold-Resistant, No-Sag suspended ceiling
  • Modular carpet, tile & faux wood flooring

  • Energy-efficient, double-paned basement windows
  • Attractive Sunhouse basement window wells
  • French, bifold, louvre & six-paneled steel doors
Unlike the average Rapids City contractor, we use completely inorganic, waterproof materials. Even if the basement floods, your walls and floors will not be damaged by the water. These waterproof products are patented and are built to create an attractive finished basement that lasts a lifetime.

Job Stories From Rapids City, IL
Leaking Basement Installed New Sump System in Rapids City, IL

Ryan’s current sump pump was giving him issues. He was still getting water in his basement, leaving a large mess for him to clean. He reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to see if there was any way that he could fix his situation. During his inspection, it was noted that the current placement of the sump pump was in a location that did not address the leaking. It was suggested that he have his sump moved to a new location to properly collect and discharge the water out of his home. A new TripleSafe sump was installed to replace the old and worn out sump, increasing the effectiveness of a dry basement. Ryan no longer has issues with water pooling in his basement, and instead it is discharged back outside.

We are on a high water table and subject to basement water problems.
Project Location: Rapids City, IL
Occasionally we get a small stream of water in our basement from a couple corners of the house. There is at least one tile line already dumping into my sump pit but I'm not sure where it goes. Also the tile isn't adequate under heavy rains. I would like to see what it would take to seal the basement up.
