Challenge
A finished basement without a dedicated drainage system is a significant risk. In this case, hydrostatic pressure forced moisture through the "cove joint" (where the wall meets the floor). Because the area was finished, the water remained trapped behind the walls, creating a breeding ground for mold and compromising the structural integrity of the drywall.
Solution
To ensure the basement remains dry and healthy, a multi-layered defense system was installed:
- CleanSpace® Wall Vapor Barrier: This durable, moisture-proof liner was applied to the foundation walls. It serves two purposes: preventing water vapor from reaching future drywall and directing any wall seepage down into the drainage tracks.
