New Basement Waterproof System Prevents Water Intrusion in Green Valley, IL

Challenge
Will’s basement suffered from perimeter leaking, a condition where groundwater hydrostatic pressure forces moisture through the floor-wall joint. Without a dedicated drainage path, the accumulating water threatened the usability of the space and the home's air quality.
Solution
Upon inspection, our experts designed a dual-action management system tailored to the basement's specific footprint. The strategy focused on two primary components:
- WaterGuard® Sub-Floor Drainage: Unlike traditional exterior drains that are prone to clogging with soil, WaterGuard was installed along the interior perimeter. This system rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the footing, specifically engineered to capture wall and floor seepage before it ever reaches the main floor area.
- SuperSump® Premier Pump System: To manage the collected water, we integrated the SuperSump system. This high-volume pump acts as the "heart" of the operation, receiving water from the WaterGuard tracks and efficiently discharging it far away from the home’s foundation.
The synergy between the WaterGuard and SuperSump systems transformed the basement environment. By intercepting water at the source and automating the discharge process, the system effectively:
- Eliminated standing water and floor dampness.
- Regulated humidity levels, ensuring a dry, healthy air supply.
- Provided Will with long-term peace of mind through a permanent, warrantied solution.
