Foundation Repair in Davenport, IA
Challenge
A local real estate investor reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems after noticing signs of structural distress in a property intended for long-term rental or future sale. The foundation showed clear evidence of hydrostatic pressure—the force of saturated soil pushing against the basement walls. This had resulted in:
Wall Inward Deflection: Signs of bowing and cracking that threatened the structural integrity.
Water Infiltration: Seepage along the floor-wall joint, leading to a damp, unusable basement environment.
Solution
Our production team executed a comprehensive installation using four proprietary systems to reinforce the home from the inside out:
WaterGuard® Sub-Floor Drainage
The team installed the WaterGuard® system beneath the basement floor perimeter. This acts as the foundation's first line of defense, capturing seepage before it ever reaches the surface.
SuperSump® System
To manage the captured water, we installed a SuperSump® pump. This dependable ally keeps the basement on the dry side by efficiently discharging water away from the foundation.
GeoLock™ Channel Anchors
Heavy-duty steel earth anchors were driven deep into the stable soil outside the home. These anchors connect to the interior foundation wall, providing immediate stabilization and halting any further inward movement.
PowerBrace™ System
For the final layer of protection, we secured PowerBrace™ steel I-beams to the floor and overhead joists. This system provides lateral support and features a patented bracket that can be tightened over time to potentially return the walls to their original vertical position.
