Solution
To mitigate these risks, a three-tiered remediation strategy was deployed, focusing on structural reinforcement, hydraulic management, and environmental encapsulation:
- The PowerBrace System: To counteract lateral movement, our technicians installed high-strength, zinc-plated steel beams. These components were anchored to the basement floor and secured to the heavy-duty floor joists above using a specialized bracket system. This configuration not only stabilizes the wall in its current state but allows for potential incremental tightening to restore the wall to its original vertical alignment over time.
- WaterGuard Sub-Floor Drainage: To address water intrusion, we installed the WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. Designed to sit atop the foundation footing and beneath the floor slab, this system intercepts seepage before it reaches the floor surface, directing it efficiently toward a high-capacity sump pump.
- CleanSpace Vapor Barrier: To eliminate high humidity and potential mold growth, we applied the CleanSpace antimicrobial vapor barrier. This high-performance liner provides a complete seal against moisture vapor transmission, effectively isolating the home from the damp soil environment.
The intervention resulted in the immediate stabilization of the home’s foundation and the total cessation of water ingress.
