Wet Crawl Space Encapsulated in Oregon, IL
Challenge
Frances D. from Oregon called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems regarding water pooling in his crawl space. Frances explained that his crawl space that is about 300 sq foot with an opening of about 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and the ceiling height is between 3 and 4 ft .The team sent Design Specialist, Michael Banks, to thoroughly inspect the crawl space and provide Frances with a quote.
Solution
Foreman, Justin Bailey, led the project. Before the team could encapsulate the space, the team laid a dimpled polyethylene membrane as drainage matting to help leaks flow to local drain. CleanSpace is made with a 7 ply plastic material that is durable and tear resistant. The team encapsulated the space with CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace also has an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh that resists mold growth, ideal for damp, humid spaces. The team installed a SmartDrain to drain leaks out of the crawl space to prevent pooling. Frances is relieved to a dryer, healthier crawl space!
