What good is a Sump Pump if it isn’t doing its job?

Making sure your sump pump is getting its annual maintenance is extremely important. At MidAmerica Basement Systems we want to make sure that the products we install in your home are working to the best of their ability.

 At your annual maintenance appointment, we will make sure to do a full check of your sump pump which includes taking the sump pump out of its pit and making sure that all of the parts are fully functioning and clear of silt and sediment.  While all of the parts are out of the sump pump pit, we will make sure to clean out the sump liner. This is important because silt build up can occur over time and can cause a block in the pump.

The valves on the sump pump will be replaced at every maintenance for a single price no matter how many valves your system has. Having your sump pump valves replaced can insure that your sump pump is functioning properly.  

The reason we stress the importance of the annual maintenance appointment is because we want to make sure that your battery backup and Water Watch Alarm are being tested to guarantee their function. Your battery backup and Water Watch Alarm are there to make sure that if you ever have a problem with loss of electricity, the battery backup can keep your system running. The Water Watch Alarm is to make sure that the water level in your sump pump does not get too high and overflow.

Along with checking all of the inner workings of your sump pump, they will also do a full check up of your discharge lines, inside and out to make sure everything is connected properly and that they are free of any leaves or debris.
