Photo Album: Egress Window Installation in Iowa City

After stabilizing their walls with MidAmerica Basement Systems, using WallAnchors, Iowa City homeowners were ready to install an Egress Window in their basement.

Pre-Egress Window

The WallAnchors have been installed in this basement to stabilize the walls before the new StakWil Window system is installed. Here, the team is prepping to cut the space for the window.

Excavation for Egress

Outside, the space for the new window and well needs to be excavated.

Window Frame Created

The frame for the window is now installed, getting the homeowners' closer to their goal of having a basement bedroom.

Basement Window

The Egress Window itself is installed. The last steps include installing the pump system, laying gravel, and placing the well.

Egress Pump and Exit

The Egress Pump and Exit collects water outside the window, and pumps it away from the house, preventing water seeping into the house through the window.

The Outside View

The StakWell Egress window and well are installed! The homeowners are happy that they can put a basement bedroom in, and be at code. Plus, the window adds a lot more light to their basement.
