Deb W. of Morton, IL wanted to get her crawl space encapsulated and waterproofed because it was damp, smelly, and getting water into her waterproofed basement. She called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems for a free estimate, and met with design specialist Dan Garner. Dan recommended a combination of products including a SmartSump Sump Pump, SilverGlo Insulation, and CleanSpace. Foreman Justin Reger and his team installed the system.

Unencapsulated Crawlspace

Currently, the dirt crawlspace is not encapsulated. The damp dirt is exposed, and the cinder block foundation is allowing for cold drafts into the crawlspace.

Water is pooling at the edges of the moist crawlspace.

The water is drained into the SmartSump, which keeps water out of the crawlspace.

SilverGlo insulation traps hot air and retains it better than traditional insulation. It brings the crawlspace up to the national energy code, and helps to lower energy costs along the way.
