Basement Systems Solution in East Moline, IL
Challenge
In East Moline, Illinois, a homeowner contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to address long-standing water intrusion issues in a family property. With nephews currently residing in the home and plans to list the property for sale in the near future, it was essential to transition the basement from a damp liability into a dry, functional asset. The persistent seepage during heavy rain threatened the structural integrity of the house and created a significant obstacle for future real estate inspections and marketability.
System Design Specialist Chris Hebbel performed a comprehensive evaluation of the basement to identify the specific points of entry for the groundwater. He designed a waterproofing strategy intended to provide long-term protection while also improving the aesthetic quality of the space. The plan focused on intercepting water before it could reach the floor and addressing the moisture-wicking properties of the foundation walls.
Our production team executed a multi-step installation process starting with the WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system. This system was installed along the perimeter to intercept seepage at the foundation joint and direct it toward a SuperSump premier pump system for reliable discharge. To further protect the environment, the crew installed the CleanSpace antimicrobial vapor barrier on the walls. This liner prevents moisture from entering the air and directs any wall seepage into the drainage channel while providing a bright, clean finish that completely transforms the look of the basement.

The project successfully converted the damp, leaky basement into a permanently dry and healthy environment. By installing these professional-grade solutions, the family secured the home’s structural integrity and ensured a worry-free experience for the current residents.
