Leaking Basement Floor Cracks are Repaired in Dalzell, IL
Challenge
Richard’s basement was plagued by persistent water seepage through floor cracks. Hoping for a definitive fix, he initially had a standard sump pump system installed. When he asked if the system would keep his floors dry, he was assured it would—a promise that held up only until the next heavy rainfall.
As water began to pool across the floor again, Richard was left with a wet basement and a growing sense of frustration. Having already invested in a "solution" that failed to deliver, he was understandably skeptical when he reached out to the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Solution
During the inspection, it became clear that while a sump pump is essential, it cannot always manage hydrostatic pressure coming through floor cracks on its own. To bridge this gap, we proposed the installation of LateralDrains.
Unlike standard perimeter drains, LateralDrains are specifically engineered to:
- Sit flush with the floor: Providing a low-profile path for water.
- Redirect Seepage: Effectively channeling water from the floor cracks directly to the sump pump.
- Prevent Surfacing: Stopping water before it has the chance to pool on the basement floor.
