Basement Waterproofing in Nichols, IA
Challenge
The Roth family was dealing with a recurring and significant water problem in their Nichols, Iowa, basement. The intrusion had become so severe that the space was virtually unusable, frequently resembling an indoor pool after heavy rain. Beyond the immediate mess, the standing water posed long-term risks to the home’s structural integrity and indoor air quality.
Solution
To provide a permanent solution rather than a temporary fix, we implemented a comprehensive triple-threat drainage and pumping strategy:
WaterGuard® Sub-Floor Drainage: We installed this perimeter piping system below the floor surface. Designed to stay out of the "mud zone," it captures seepage at the wall-floor joint without the risk of clogging.
SuperSump® System: As the heart of the setup, the SuperSump was installed to efficiently pump collected water out of the home, ensuring the basement remains dry even during torrential downpours.
IceGuard® Discharge Protection: To account for Iowa’s harsh winters, we added an IceGuard fitting to the exterior line. This allows water to escape even if the secondary discharge lines freeze or become blocked by snow.
