Hydrostatic Pressure Control & Custom Sub-Floor Drainage Design
Challenge
Our specialist performed an exhaustive interior and exterior structural analysis, mapping out moisture patterns and assessing sub-slab drainage conditions. The diagnostic confirmed that heavy hydrostatic head pressure was aggressively pushing groundwater through the perimeter cold joints whenever the soil saturated.
To catch and divert this groundwater before it ever touches the living area, we designed an active interior defense system. First, a high-capacity sub-floor drainage channel will be installed along the perimeter, sitting right above the foundation footing to collect wall and floor seepage seamlessly. Second, this channel feeds directly into a dual-pump sump basin outfitted with an airtight lid to trap odors and humidity. Finally, the system routes water safely outdoors through a high-volume discharge pipe equipped with a specialized exterior freeze guard to protect against winter backup.
Solution
The Grandview client received a clear visual schematic of the water management network, an in-depth breakdown of all components, and a transparent, fixed-price proposal. The consultation provided the homeowner with a complete understanding of their home's water dynamics and an actionable blueprint to transform their basement into a dry, healthy space.
