A homeowner in Galesburg, IL, contacted our team with growing concerns about their air quality within their home. Solution

This multi-component solution was designed to completely isolate the crawl space from the earth and outdoor elements, preventing moisute intrustion and humidity levels. 

The project included the following key components:

Drainage Matting

Installed beneath the vapor barrier, the drainage matting creates an air gap that allows any ground moisture to flow freely to the drainage system, preventing it from getting trapped directly under the vapor barrier. 

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier

A durable, bright white 20-mil thick vapor barrier was meticulously installed across the entire crawl space floor and up the foundation walls. This heavy-duty liner effectively blocks moisture and soil gasses from entering the space, creating a clean and dry environment.

SmartDrain

Strategically placed in the crawl space, the SmartDrain collects any water that might enter the space and directs it away, preventing any pooling and saturation. 

SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier

This high-capacity, energy-efficient dehumidifier was installed to actively control the humidity levels within the encapsulated crawl space. By maintaining optimal humidity, the SaniDry Sedona prevents condensation and inhibits mold growth, ensuring the air remains dry and healthy. 

The complete encapsulation of the Galesburg, IL, crawl space with the CleanSpace system provided a robust and lasting solution to the homeowner's indoor air quality concerns.
