The Challenge:

A Compromised Foundation In Stockton, Illinois, a homeowner began noticing persistent, musty odors migrating from the crawl space into the main living areas. The combination of high seasonal humidity and the moisture-retaining properties of local clay soils had turned the crawl space into a liability. These conditions were not only affecting indoor air quality but also threatening the home's structural integrity and increasing monthly energy costs as the HVAC system worked harder to combat the heavy, humid air.

The Professional Diagnostic:

System Design Specialist Jason Feldmann was called in to perform a comprehensive inspection. He identified that the open vents and exposed earth were allowing moisture vapor to saturate the floor joists and insulation. To permanently resolve these issues, Jason designed a complete encapsulation strategy featuring the CleanSpace vapor barrier, Drainage Matting and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.

The Engineered Solution:

Our production team, led by Foreman Jacob Schultz, executed the transformation with a focus on long-term durability and performance. The crew installed the CleanSpace antimicrobial liner over the floors and walls to create a permanent, 20-mil poly reinforced cocoon that prevents moisture and soil gases from entering the home. To manage the ambient air, the team installed the SaniDry Sedona, a compact powerhouse designed specifically for high-demand crawl space environments to lower humidity and prevent mold growth. We also utilized Drainage Matting beneath the CleanSpace liner to ensure any water entering from the soil is directed efficiently to the sump pump system without pooling.
