Crawlspace Encapsulated in Rapids City, IA

This Rapid City homeowner said goodbye to a damp, drafty crawlspace and hello to a healthier, more comfortable home thanks to crawlspace encapsulation!

Crawlspaces can become neglected areas under a house, prone to moisture problems, mold growth, and attracting pests. Encapsulation is a process that can significantly improve your crawlspace and your home as a whole.

Here's what crawlspace encapsulation typically involves:

  • Sealing the crawlspace: A heavy-duty vapor barrier is installed on the crawlspace floor and walls. This creates a moisture barrier that helps prevent dampness from entering the living space above.
  • Closing foundation vents (in some cases): Crawlspaces are often vented to allow for air circulation. However, in an encapsulated crawlspace, these vents are typically closed and sealed to further control moisture and maintain a consistent temperature.
  • Dehumidification: A dehumidifier may be installed in the crawlspace to help regulate moisture levels and prevent mold growth.
  • Insulation: Insulating the crawlspace walls can improve energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer between the crawlspace and the living area.

Large Sinking Driveway Has Left Homeowner Unhappy in Colona, IL

Ben was very upset with the large sinking concrete in portions of his driveway. Overtime sections of the driveway had sunk due to the voids under the concrete. Some areas had dropped about 2 to 3 inches, leaving the driveway unlevel and unsafe. MidAmerica Basement Systems offered the solution PolyLevel. PolyLevel is injected under the concrete to fill to voids, once the voids are filled, it expands to lift and stabilize the slabs. The slabs that were 2-3 inches lower, now run flush with the other areas of the driveway, making the driveway level and safe once again.

Waterproofing system installed in Colona, IL

This homeowner was having issues with water pooling in her basement, making it a hassle to keep up with when it rained. She reached out to MidAmerica Basement Systems to have her basement problem looked at. It was offered to her to have CleanSpace and WaterGuard installed around the perimeter of the basement. CleanSpace helps reduce moisture in the area, while WaterGuard collects and redirects the water to the TripleSafe sump. Once the water reaches the sump, it is discharged from the basement, keeping the homeowner’s basement dry. She no longer has to worry about cleaning up a wet mess. To help repair the damaged walls, the bottom potion was removed and the Everlast Wall Restoration system installed.
