Uneven and sunken concrete slabs along a driveway in Peoria, Illinois, created hazardous tripping conditions and threatened long-term structural damage. Unsealed joints allowed rainwater to penetrate the subbase, eroding the underlying soil and creating voids beneath the driveway flatwork.
To eliminate the hazard without invasive concrete demolition, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet evaluated the site and designed a targeted repair plan using PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling and NexusPro® Joint Sealant through MidAmerica Basement Systems.
Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. arrived on-site to execute the precision lift. The team drilled small injection ports through the sunken slabs and pumped high-density PolyLevel polyurethane foam directly beneath the concrete matrix. As the foam expanded, it filled subterranean voids, compacted loose supporting soil, and lifted the heavy slabs back to a level, stable plane.
Following the lift, Justin and Devin S. sealed all cracks and expansion joints with NexusPro Joint Sealant. This flexible, UV-resistant sealant creates a durable barrier that blocks future water infiltration and prevents subgrade soil erosion. The crew patched the injection holes, leaving behind a smooth, safe, and long-lasting driveway surface ready for immediate use.
Homeowner was experiencing water intrusion where the foundation walls meet the floor and through cracks in the floor. She called the professionals at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The team sent an expert out to inspect the home and provide a free estimate within the same day. Excited about having these problems fixed, the team began the project.
To address water coming in from the perimeter, the team installed WaterGuard. WaterGuard is designed to drain wall leaks and rising ground water from the perimeter into the new SuperSump, which comes with special features that make it stand out among other sump pump systems such as a perforated and durable liner that allows ground water to drain into the unit, an airtight lid that allows water to drain into the unit but prevents water vapor to rise, and a WaterWatch alarm that will alert Amy if there are any problems.
The team constructed a discharge line that allowed water to be pumped to the LawnScape away from the home. To further protect Amy's basement during the cold winter months, the team installed IceGuard which is designed to eject water away from the foundation walls if a pipe freezes, preventing flooding.
MidAmerica has provided a better equipped basement for the rainy and cold season!
This homeowner in Peoria had a basement that continuously was damp and overall dingy. They called the experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems and the team installed a CleanSpace liner to the foundation walls to help drain all leaks into the drainage system. The team installed WaterGuard as the perimeter drainage system which will drain walls leaks and rising ground water to the newly installed SuperSump sump pump system. Now the homeowner has a waterproofed basement that is also easier on the eyes!
This crawl space belongs to a homeowner in Peoria who called the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems to encapsulate their crawl space. The team installed drainage matting to the crawl space floor. Drainage matting is a dimpled polyethylene membrane that is installed under the CleanSpace liner (shown in before picture) that allows water to flow to a drain or sump pump. CleanSpace is then installed over the matting and up the crawl space walls to efficiently encapsulate the space. CleanSpace is a very strong material that acts as a vapor/radon barrier and has an antimicrobial additive that resists mold growth. The team also sealed the vent to keep outside air/moisture from entering the crawl space therefor compromising its effectiveness as an encapsulation system. The homeowner has a dryer, healthier crawl space!
The homeowner of this basement in Peoria reached out to the MidAmerica Basement Systems in regards to bowing walls in his older basement. The team installed Geo-Lock wall anchors to secure the walls and straighten them over time. The homeowner is thrilled to have a safe basement again!
