This crawl space belongs to a homeowner in Peoria who called the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems to encapsulate their crawl space. The team installed drainage matting to the crawl space floor. Drainage matting is a dimpled polyethylene membrane that is installed under the CleanSpace liner (shown in before picture) that allows water to flow to a drain or sump pump. CleanSpace is then installed over the matting and up the crawl space walls to efficiently encapsulate the space. CleanSpace is a very strong material that acts as a vapor/radon barrier and has an antimicrobial additive that resists mold growth. The team also sealed the vent to keep outside air/moisture from entering the crawl space therefor compromising its effectiveness as an encapsulation system.
