Sunken slabs can produce unsafe walking areas, and can be simply fixed with PolyLevel. MidAmerica Basement Systems uses a polyurethane based material that fills in voids under concrete, that accurately lifts and levels the slabs. PolyLevel reacts to precisely lift the slabs without under- or over-lifting, offering the best solution. It also provides a permanent stable solution, preventing the concrete from sinking again.
The concrete slabs under Jack’s stairs to his porch had sunken and shifted so much, it made the stairs unsafe to walk on, making it necessary for him to remove the stairs to prevent anyone from walking on them. His main concern was how much it was going to cost him to have it torn up and replaced. He was than introduced to the alternative solution of PolyLevel from MidAmerica Basement Systems. PolyLevel uses high-density polymers to lift, level, and stable sunken concrete slabs. Smaller than dime-sized holes are drilled into the slabs, and PolyLevel is injected, filling the voids that initially caused the slabs to sink. After the voids are filled, the polyurethane expands, lifting the concrete back to its level, stable state.

Warren F. of Oelwein, IA decided he wanted to get his basement finished. He called MidAmerica Basement Systems for a free estimate, and met with design specialist Joe Sarb. Joe and Warren worked together and designed a finished basement system, and Warren picked from many beautiful flooring options and other materials. In order to get the finishes added to the basement, though, the basement first needed to be waterproofed with a full perimeter WaterGuard. These pictures show before and after the WaterGuard is installed. Once the concrete dries, you'll never even know WaterGuard was installed!
