PolyLevel® Stabilization in Cedar Rapids, IA

A homeowner in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, faced a tilted front sidewalk that was actively directing surface water runoff straight beneath their porch deck, putting both the porch structure and home foundation at risk of severe water damage. Left unchecked, the pooling water threatened to wash away the supporting subgrade soil and compromise the long-term structural integrity of the home.

To eliminate the hazard without invasive concrete demolition, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet evaluated the site and designed a targeted repair strategy using PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling through MidAmerica Basement Systems.

Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. executed the restoration with precision. The team strategically drilled pea-sized injection ports through the tilted sidewalk slabs and injected high-strength PolyLevel polyurethane foam into the underlying subbase. As the geopolymer expanded, it filled subterranean voids, compacted loose supporting soil, and lifted the sunken concrete back to a stable, level plane, properly redirecting water flow away from the porch and foundation. The crew patched the injection holes, leaving behind a safe, fully stabilized sidewalk engineered to protect the property for years to come.
