Concrete Slab Alignment & Joint Sealing in Waverly, IA

A homeowner in Waverly, Iowa, faced daily frustrations with severely misaligned concrete seams along their flatwork. The vertical offsets between adjoining slabs created hazardous tripping points for family and visitors, while making winter snow shoveling nearly impossible as shovel blades repeatedly caught on uneven edges.

To restore a smooth, safe walking surface without the expense of total concrete replacement, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet evaluated the site and designed a multi-step stabilization strategy using PolyLevel® Concrete Leveling and NexusPro® Joint Sealant through MidAmerica Basement Systems.

Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. mobilized to execute the concrete restoration. First, the team drilled pea-sized injection ports into the sunken slabs and injected expanding PolyLevel polyurethane foam. The high-density foam filled underlying subterranean voids, compacted weak subgrade soil, and lifted the depressed concrete until the seams aligned perfectly flush.

Once the slabs were flush, Justin and Devin S. prepped the control joints and cracks to receive NexusPro joint sealant. Designed to resist UV degradation and extreme temperature shifts, this silicone-based sealant cures into a durable, flexible barrier that prevents surface runoff from seeping beneath the concrete, halting future soil erosion and protecting the underlying subbase. The crew finished the site clean-up, leaving behind a level, fully sealed concrete surface engineered for long-term safety and seamless mobility.
