Levelling Tripping Hazards in Davenport, IA
Challenge
A homeowner in Davenport, Iowa, contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems regarding their aging concrete front walkway. Over time, shifting and settling subsoil had caused the concrete slabs to sink unevenly.
The resulting layout resembled a miniature mountain range, turning a standard entryway into a hazardous obstacle course. Concerned for the safety of family, friends, and delivery drivers, the homeowner needed a reliable, long-lasting solution that wouldn't require the massive mess and expense of completely ripping out and repouring the concrete.
Solution
Our Customer Care team quickly scheduled a property inspection. System Design Specialist Toney Genova arrived on-site to evaluate the structural integrity of the walkway.
Toney diagnosed that voids in the soil beneath the slabs were causing the drop. He designed a targeted, non-invasive remediation plan utilizing two premium products:
- PolyLevel®: To fill the voids and lift the heavy slabs back to their original plane.
- NexusPro®: To seal the joints and cracks, preventing future water infiltration and soil erosion.
The transformation was immediate. What was once a slippery, hazardous scramble was restored to a smooth, stroll-friendly promenade.
By opting for polyurethane lifting over a traditional concrete repour, the homeowners saved time, avoided a torn-up yard, and were able to walk on their level walkway the very same day. Thanks to the expert design by Toney and the flawless execution by Chris and Markell, the home’s curb appeal was completely restored with a permanent, reliable fix.
