Restoring Safety and Peace of Mind One Slab at a Time
Challenge
A homeowner in the welcoming community of Bettendorf, Iowa, was facing a daily obstacle course in their own yard. The home's concrete driveway and walkways had fallen victim to Iowa's notorious freeze-thaw cycles, causing the slabs to shift, sink, and tilt.
The result was a dizzying array of trip hazards. The homeowner was constantly worried about the safety of first-time guests and neighbor kids, wanting nothing more than to enjoy their backyard without the fear of an unexpected injury.
Solution
The transformation began when the homeowner contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems. We quickly dispatched System Design Specialist Rob Chismark to inspect the property.
Justin and Tanner drilled minute, penny-sized holes into the compromised slabs. They artfully injected our high-strength PolyLevel® liquid polymer beneath the concrete. As the foam expanded, it filled the voids and gently lifted the heavy driveway and walkway slabs back into perfect alignment.
Once the concrete was perfectly leveled, the crew applied NexusPro® Joint Sealant. This durable sealant closed off the joints, ensuring that rainwater and snowmelt could no longer sneak beneath the slabs and wash away the supporting soil.
Justin and Tanner packed up the truck, leaving behind perfectly aligned, stable concrete patches. The homeowner was left with absolute peace of mind and a yard that is officially marked "safe" for family and friends.
At MidAmerica Basement Systems, putting customers first and restoring their pride in their home is the entirety of our story!
