PolyLevel® Injection Strategy for Monroe Center Residence
Challenge
A homeowner in Monroe Center contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems after observing severe unevenness across their concrete patio and walkway. Sub-surface water runoff had washed out the fine soil base beneath the slabs, creating hollow air pockets. Deprived of support, the heavy concrete settled several inches, creating dangerous vertical offset trip hazards near the house entryway. The owner wanted to avoid the high cost, long cure times, and landscape destruction that come with tearing out and replacing the slabs.
Solution
To lift the concrete and permanently re-establish a solid base, our specialist engineered a targeted PolyLevel® foam injection plan. Penny-sized holes are drilled through the sunken slabs to access the sub-grade voids. High-density, expanding polyurethane foam is then injected into the pockets, expanding through loose soil and generating strong hydraulic force to lift the concrete back flush with adjacent structures. Once elevated, the injection ports are sealed, and surface expansion joints are filled with dynamic silicone sealant to prevent future water runoff from washing away the soil foundation.
