Concrete Contractors You Can Count On!

Uneven concrete can cause dangerous tripping hazards around your home and can decrease your home’s value. If you notice any signs of concrete cracks or uneven floors around your Davenport home, it’s important to get it repaired and leveled before the problem becomes worse.

Many homeowners are under the impression that they need to completely replace their concrete slab, but that may not always be the case. If your concrete slab is severely cracked or has a lot of pitting and flaking, it may need to be replaced.

If your concrete slab has sunken below the other, it may simply need to be lifted or leveled. At MidAmerica Basement Systems in Davenport, we offer several concrete crack repair and uneven floor leveling services to even your concrete for a safe and level surface.

Concrete Repair

We use PolyLevel® to lift your sunken concrete back into place. It’s a polyurethane foam that is injected into the sunken slab to lift it back up. A dime-size hole is drilled into the slab, then the foam is injected and instantly expands to fill all the voids underneath your concrete. It cures very quickly and can be used within 15-20 minutes after installed.

PolyLevel® can be used on your sidewalk, driveway, patio, or pool deck. It’s a much quicker and cost-effective solution than a complete slab replacement.

PolyLevel

Before and After

Mudjacking is a more traditional method for concrete leveling that is not as effective as PolyLevel®. It uses a muddy, slurry mix instead of polyurethane foam and can easily wash out after a year or two, leaving you with the same problem. PolyLevel® is a waterproof, permanent solution that will not wash out over time like mudjacking would.

At MidAmerica Basement Systems, we offer proven, quality solutions to our Davenport customers to provide the best possible concrete crack repair and uneven floor leveling service. We’ve helped homeowners protect their homes and increase their home’s value for over 30 years. Contact us today for your free quote in Cedar Rapids, Peoria, Davenport, & Nearby!

Concrete Leveling & PolyLevel FAQs

What causes concrete slabs to sink or become uneven?

Concrete slabs can sink when the soil underneath them settles, shifts, or develops empty spaces that no longer provide adequate support. As the slab settles into these voids, sections of a driveway, sidewalk, patio, or other concrete surface can become uneven. Concrete leveling can lift sunken slabs and help restore a safer, more even surface.

How does PolyLevel lift sunken concrete?

PolyLevel® uses a polyurethane foam that is injected beneath sunken concrete through small holes drilled into the slab. The foam expands beneath the concrete to fill voids and lift the slab back toward its original position. This process allows sunken concrete to be leveled without completely replacing the slab.

Where can PolyLevel be used?

PolyLevel® can be used to lift and level many common residential concrete surfaces, including sidewalks, driveways, patios, and pool decks. A concrete repair professional can inspect the damaged area to determine whether lifting and leveling is appropriate or if the condition of the concrete requires another solution.

How soon can I use my concrete after PolyLevel installation?

PolyLevel® cures quickly. According to MidAmerica Basement Systems, treated concrete can typically be used within about 15 to 20 minutes after installation. This makes PolyLevel a faster concrete leveling option than methods that require lengthy curing periods.

Is PolyLevel different from mudjacking?

Yes. Traditional mudjacking uses a heavy slurry mixture beneath the concrete, while PolyLevel® uses expanding polyurethane foam. PolyLevel is waterproof and will not wash out over time like a mudjacking slurry can. It also requires smaller injection holes and cures quickly after installation.
