Why Should You Consider Foundation Wall Repair?

The Warrantied Solution For Bowing & Buckling Foundation Wall Repair

Hydrostatic pressure from soils in the ground can cause your foundation walls to bow or buckle inward. This causes major problems with the structural integrity of your home and could eventually cause the walls to completely collapse.

At MidAmerica Basement Systems, we use the PowerBrace™ wall repair system to repair your bowed or buckled walls. They are steel I-beams that are placed against your bowing walls to straighten them back to their original position. A benefit of the PowerBrace™ system is that it can be adjusted and tightened overtime for additional support.

Technical Features of the PowerBrace™ System:

  • No outside excavation required
  • Can be tightened to allow for improvement of the wall over time
  • All components are zinc-coated for rust resistance
  • Neat, clean appearance in the basement
  • Minimal disruption of basement space

Sub-par I-beam systems will rust and deteriorate over time. The PowerBrace™ system includes a zinc-coating that protects it from this kind of corrosion.

The Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchors are also a great solution for bowing or buckling walls. The difference between this system and the PowerBrace™ system is that the wall anchors must be installed on the outside of the foundation deep into the earth’s soil. We’ve found that this can sometimes be an issue with property lines.

If that’s the case, we recommend using the PowerBrace™ system to repair your bowed walls. Our team is happy to inspect your home’s situation and let you know the best possible recommendation.

Installing the PowerBrace™ Wall System

PowerBrace™ can be installed inside your home to provide immediate relief to your bowing or buckling walls. At MidAmerica Basement Systems, we follow these steps for installation:

1. Cutting Wall Braces

The wall braces must first be cut to size to ensure that they will fit in your home. Our team measures your basement walls and cuts each beam to the correct height for installation.

2. Securing The Floor Joist Hardware

The next step is to secure each brace to the floor joists. Each bracket is bolted to the floor joist and our team tightens it to the appropriate amount.

3. Fine-Tuning The PowerBrace™ Positions

Our team will ensure each beam is in the correct position by measuring each one before the next step is started.

4. Attaching Braces To The Floor

Each beam is then attached to the floor with a bolt-in-place bracket.
