Basement Drain

Protect Your Basement with a Drainage Solution

Basements are susceptible to flooding based on their location and the way they are designed. To protect your basement from flood damage, it’s important to have the proper waterproofing systems in place. A basement drain can be installed to capture any water before it enters your basement and properly channel it outside and away from your home.

Our basement drain systems for Davenport homes at MidAmerica Basement Systems can be easily installed to start protecting your basement from water damage.

Keep Your Basement Dry with a Perimeter Drain

In Davenport, a perimeter drain is your basement’s first defense against water intrusion. It lines the perimeter of your basement and captures all water before it ever enters your basement. There are many different types of basement drains available in Davenport and we are happy to discuss the options that will be best for your home. Installation time typically takes 1-2 days and our crew will clean up any mess or disruption to your yard during excavation.

Basement Drain

Basement drains come in many shapes and sizes, some which work better than others. Basement drains also have many names, including drain tile, weeping tile, French drain, interior footing drain, and other names.

Interior Basement Drain

Our drain systems include:

Interior Basement Drain Systems

The interior basement drain is installed along the entire perimeter of your basement. Our team will dig up the concrete and install the drain just below the floor level, then cover it back with cement so you won’t even know any work was done when the project is complete. It will capture any water that attempts to enter your basement and will direct it to a sump pump, which will then discard the water outside your home.

Wall Drainage

Built-In Wall Drainage (No Open Gaps on the Floor)

Basement walls can leak in many ways, including through cracks, pipe penetrations, through windows, or simply by having water seep through the concrete.

The hollow cavities in block walls can fill with water, creating a never-ending stream of water vapor and humidity in the home.

Features of Our System:

  • A 3/8" wall flange allows water to drain from the walls
  • Compatible with tucked-in wall vapor barriers
  • Neat and clean finished appearance

Drain Accessible Port

Built-In Wall Drainage

The built-in wall drainage leaves no open gaps on the floor to prevent any water from leaking through. Water can enter your basement through cracks, broken pipes, or leaky windows and cause extensive water damage. The built-in wall drainage system captures any water leakage to prevent water intrusion and is compatible with wall vapor barriers.

System features:

  • A 3/8" wall flange allows water to drain from the walls
  • Compatible with vapor barriers
  • Clean finished appearance

An Easily Accessible Port

We use the WaterGuard® ports manufactured by Basement Systems, Inc. for their accessibility and ease of use when the system needs to be tested or inspected. They can also easily connect to a dehumidifier for easy drainage.

System features:

  • Easy-access ports to the drainage system
  • Drain your dehumidifier

Base Board Waterproofing System

Baseboard Waterproofing System for Special Applications

Not all foundations are created equal. Some foundations are built with the floor and footing connected as one piece, known as a monolithic foundation, which will require a different installation technique for a home or property in Davenport with this type of basement drain. With this type of foundation, the edges of your basement floor are very thick and jackhammering them may cause them to crack. In that case, we recommend installing a baseboard drainage system that lies on top of the floor in order to prevent damage during installation.

Since this system is installed on top of your floor and is at risk for becoming loose, we use a special epoxy and dove-tail design to make sure it is properly bonded to your floor.

System features:

  • Works well for monolithic foundations
  • Quick installation in 1-2 days
  • Connected permanently to floor
  • Combats leaking floor cracks

Our waterproofing experts at MidAmerica Basement Systems can recommend the best drainage system solutions for your home depending on your foundation’s situation.
