A homeowner in the heart of Davenport, Iowa, turned to MidAmerica Basement Systems to solve a ongoing dampness issue in their subterranean level. Wanting to preserve the home’s long-term value and structural integrity for future generations, they needed a permanent solution to stop moisture from creeping into the lower living space. Unmanaged humidity and water seepage were restricting how the basement could be used, posing ongoing risks to indoor air quality and property preservation.
To address these concerns, System Design Specialist Tim Rollet conducted a full site evaluation and designed a complete subterranean water management system featuring WaterGuard® Interior Drainage and a SuperSump® Sump Pump System.
Foreman Justin Maddox and crew member Devin S. mobilized to carry out the installation. The team prepped the perimeter slab and embedded the non-clogging WaterGuard drainage channel atop the concrete wall footing. This system captures water seeping from both the wall faces and floor-wall joints before it pools on the floor, efficiently routing flow to the primary discharge point.
At the collection pit, Justin and Devin S. installed the SuperSump system. Equipped with a heavy-duty 1/3 HP cast-iron pump, an airtight lid with a floor drain, and a WaterWatch® alarm system, the SuperSump reliably evacuates high volumes of water away from the foundation. The crew patched the perimeter trench with smooth concrete and thoroughly cleaned the workspace. The transformation left behind a clean, dry basement—safeguarded for years to come and ready to be used for storage, family gatherings, or future living space.
