Before & After
A homeowner in Muscatine, IA faced persistent issues with water intrusion through the cellar door, leading to subgrade soil erosion and hazardous mold growth inside their basement. Recognizing the risk to their home's structural health and indoor air quality, they sought an advanced waterproofing and structural support solution.
System Design Specialist Andrew Sagar conducted a thorough site evaluation, diagnosing poor exterior drainage around the cellar entry and weak floor framing as the core vulnerabilities. Andrew designed a multi-layer remediation plan to manage groundwater, isolate moisture, and stabilize sagging structural supports. Foreman Jacob Quinn and crew members Caleb and Nathan executed the installation on site.
To eliminate moisture accumulation, the team installed the high-capacity SuperSump® sump pump system to collect and forcefully evacuate intruding groundwater away from the foundation. The crew then encapsulated the compromised cellar entry and surrounding wall area with the durable CleanSpace® vapor barrier, completely locking out humidity and liquid water ingress. Finally, Jacob, Caleb, and Nathan installed heavy-duty SmartJack® structural support columns to stabilize the existing floor beams, lift sagging joists, and permanently reinforce the home's structural framework.
As shown in the photos, the cellar entry and basement are now clean, fully dry, and structurally secure, providing the Muscatine homeowner with a healthier living environment and lasting peace of mind.
