Positioning the drain above the mud zone prevents sediment blockages, allowing the channel to intercept wall-footing seepage and redirect flow directly to the discharge pit.

At the primary collection point, the crew installed the TripleSafe sump pump system, featuring a cast-iron primary pump for daily water removal, a secondary high-capacity pump to handle severe torrential inflows, and an UltraSump battery-backup pump to ensure continuous operation during power outages.
