Before & After

Before: In East Moline, Illinois, a family home was plagued by a wet and leaky basement that threatened the structural integrity of the foundation. With the homeowner's nephews currently living in the space and plans to sell the property within the next two years, the persistent water intrusion was a major concern for both current comfort and future resale value. The damp environment and visible seepage created an urgent need for a professional solution that could guarantee a dry, market-ready basement.
After: Our team transformed the space by installing the WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system paired with a SuperSump premier pump to capture and remove water before it reaches the floor surface. To improve the overall environment and aesthetics, we added the CleanSpace antimicrobial vapor barrier to the walls, which redirects moisture into the drainage channel while providing a bright and clean finish. The result is a permanently dry and healthy basement that allows the current residents to live comfortably and ensures the home is protected for its future sale.
The residential structure in East Moline, IL was suffering from chronic hydrostatic pressure, resulting in active groundwater seepage and elevated relative humidity that rendered the basement unusable. System Design Specialist Jamie Cox diagnosed the structural breach points and engineered a comprehensive sub-grade management solution to stabilize the environment for future storage and bathroom installation.
Foreman Jacob Oetzman and technician Antonio executed the technical remediation, installing the WaterGuard® sub-floor drainage system along the perimeter footing to intercept water table migration. This flow was directed into a TripleSafe™ sump pump system, utilizing a three-pump configuration to guarantee continuous discharge even during peak flow or power failures. Finally, a CleanSpace® vapor barrier was mechanically fastened to the foundation walls to block vapor transmission and redirect wall seepage into the drainage channel. This multi-tiered intervention successfully mitigated the moisture dynamics, transforming a compromised, high-humidity space into a dry, structurally stabilized environment ready for build-out.
For this Oneida, IL homeowner, the basement had become a "no-go zone"—a damp, musty space better suited for a science experiment than family storage. To solve the problem, one of our system design specialists custom-engineered a solution, which was brought to life by Foreman Jacob Oetzman and his crew.
We equipped the space with our industry-leading TripleSafe Sump Pump system, creating a permanent barrier against groundwater. The result? A bone-dry haven where "basement smells" are a thing of the past. Whether it’s kids playing or weekend warriors organizing gear, the family can finally step downstairs without dodging puddles or worry.
The homeowners of this wet Andover basement already had two sump pumps in their basement but it still wasn't enough to keep their basement dry so they reached out to the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems. The team installed what is referred to as "sump pump royalty", the TripleSafe sump pump system. Finally the homeowners have a dry basement!
These homeowners wanted to insulate and further waterproof their basement so they contacted the MidAmerica Basement Systems. The team insulated the basement by installing Basement to Beautiful panels. Now the basement is dry and toasty!
